Cardamine raphanifolia

Although an ancient herb, Cardamine raphanifolia was not actually recorded in the wild until 1930, in North East Yorkshire. A low-growing rhizomatous perennial herb, that naturalises in damp, semi- shaded to shaded places, very similar to watercress in its growing habit.The edible leaves taste of radishes, and can be harvested well into the winter. ('Raphanifolia' means Radish-leaved). The purple flowers, borne in late spring/early summer, are favoured by butterflies. Priced for a 9cm pot
