The Winged Prickly Ash. Hardy deciduous shrub from China and the Himalayas, growing to 4 metres. Will grow in sun or semi-shade, preferring moist soils. The leaves are aromatic and used as a tonic and a flavouring; the fruits are dried and used as a condiment. An essential component in Chinese Five Spice. Supplied in a 2 ltr pot, 40 to 50 cm high.
