Myrtus communis subsp. Tarentina. Evergreen perennial, Spicy small dark green leaves and fragrant white flowers spring into summer. Dark-purple edible berries follow late summer/autumn. The berries can be dried then ground and used as a spice for meat. The leaves also have a spicy flavour and can be added to pork or lamb at the end of cooking. Likes a warm sheltered position. Good seaside plant as it tolerates salty air well. Height 1 - 1.5 metres. Priced for: 6 litre pot
