Malus domestica MM106 - 1883 in Carse of Gowrie, Scotland. Its name stems from a ploughman who was caught stealing apples and was shot by the gamekeeper. His wife took the bag of apples and threw them on the compost heap where a seedling grew. Red fruit, sweet, crisp and juicy. Height 3 to 3.5 metres.
