Pear, Uvedale's St Germain - Maiden

Pyrus communis - Kent UK 1690. Often Known as the 'Pound Pear'. A very old variety of uncertain origin but believed to have been raised by Dr Uvedale of Eltham, Kent around 1690. A culinary pear producing very large fruit with smooth, pale yellow skin, faint orange red flush and some russet patches. Crisp, white flesh. Vigrous, and heavy cropping. Self-sterile and would require a pollinator to produce a crop. Pollination group 2. Pick late Oct, use until March. Priced for: 1 year maiden
