Hazel, Corylus avellana 'Hallesche Riesen'

In Stock 3

Corylus avellana. Originated in the Halle region of Germany during the 1700s. It is a hardy, strong growing deciduous tree, growing to a maximum height of 7 metres. The bright green leaves turn a brilliant yellow in autumn. Catkins and flowers are borne in March/April, followed by large round hazelnuts that are ready in mid-September and store very well. Full sun or partial shade. Tolerates most conditions, and can be grown as a standalone tree or trained as a dense hedgerow. Self-fertile, but productivity will improve greatly if another Hazel is planted nearby. Priced for: 3 litre pot
