For dispatch from mid Jan 2020 onwards. First Early. Firm Waxy Flesh. Raised in Scotland by McGill & Smith Ltd and well-known for its early lifting ability. Introduced in 1942, Home Guard was the main potato during the Second World War, and was a commercial success due to its consistent high yields of fresh, tasty potatoes with white skins and white flesh. Short, oval tubers with shallow eyes are the most common shape for this variety. Disease-wise, this has a high resistance to all forms of scab. Recommended use: Boil, Steamed. Priced for: One Kilo
