Capsicum annuum, (Circa 1800) From Padrón, Galica - NW Spain, From the municipality of Padrón in the province of A Coruña, Galicia, north-western Spain, whose monastery was where Franciscans first tried growing pepper seeds they’d brought back from the New World in the 18th century. This is a mild, smallish beauty, with a colour ranging from bright green to yellowish-green and occasionally red, horn-shaped, conical capsicum, & although sweet, about 1 in 10 is hot so watch out! This is the one served in Tapas Bars, Pick small and eat or fry in olive oil.  SOWING - Peppers require a long, warm growing season. Sow indoors Mar or 8 wks prior to transplanting, 1/4" deep & provide constant moisture & a warm soil, germination is 1-2 weeks, once seedlings develop 2-3 true leaves, transplant into separate containers
