Glycine max. A new compact variety from Japan that is well suited for shorter season colder climates. The plants are erect and reach about 60 cm in height. The beans contain about 47% protein and 15% oil by weight. Likes full sun, but will grow in most soil types. To use as Edamame beans, harvest around 50 days when the seeds are plump and tender. To dry and use as soya beans wait another 50 days. Cook the beans before eating. Seed count approx 30.
