Highly attractive Heirloom, open pollinated variety, one of the darkest carrots from skin to core, very black with a beautiful small white star (or nebula) in the middle, Very sweet tasting & crunchy, delicious raw or cooked carrot. It’s also used as a dye. Makes a stunning dark puple drink when juiced & when a squeeze of lemon is added, turns bright pink. Amazingly, it retains its color after cooking & is incredibly high in anthocyanins. If left in the garden, it makes an equisite white umbel tinged with lavender.
