Asparagus Acutifolius, (Circa 3000 BC) - The True Species, (Circa 3000 BC) An Interesting niche crop & evergreen perennial, the true species producing a delicacy & rare edible tips, valuable in value & scarcity. Latin name acutifolius, means "thorny leaves" from the characteristics shape of the leaves, this has a much stronger flavour so serve in small portions, the prickly foliage & low growing habit make this crop much different than traditional Asparagus officianalis, Harvest spears before buds open.
