Eryngium foetidum, Culinary & Medicinal Leafy Green Herb (Shade), Spiritwood - Culinary & medicinal leafy green herb with a similar aroma to Coriander, but a distinctly different look & taste. Used in the Caribbean for seasoning & marinating of a wide range of vegetable & meat dishes, sauces, & preserves. It dries well, retaining good colour & flavour, this 2 to 3 ft herb has long green leaves & highly scented white flowers. Prefers a Shady position, cut (harvest) entire rosette to the ground regularly & remove flower heads to maintain vegetative growth. Non-hardy Perennial, treat as an Annual, Seed Count Approx - 250 + avg
SOWING - Sow Mid Spring inside, easy to grow but needs attention & patience to be successful with. The three critical conditions are warm soil, seeds on the surface of the soil – never covered, & consistently moist soil. If you meet all three conditions, your seeds should start sprouting in 14 - 30 days & planting out in late Spring.
