Tomato , Costoluto Fiorentino (Beefsteak)

In Stock 4

Solanum lycopersicum, Late season Red (Cordon),  This is one of those ugly ones in a wrinkly sort of way, very highly ribbed (Costoluto' means 'ribbed' in Italian). Coming from the area around Florence (Tuscany region), this regular foliage indeterminate (cordon - not a bush) produces medium-large, old-fashioned, misshapen, heavy, ribbed beef tomatoes. They are very meaty (can weigh around 150g each) and are ideal for slicing. Indoor or Garden, Seed Count Approx - 15 avg

SOWING -  Surface-sown or covered only slightly, Don't allow to dry out but don’t overwater. Keep warm until germination (10 days approx), move to WARM bright light area. After about last frost, transplant out into protected growing pots. Plants need staking & side-shoots removing. Will grow as well inside or out & not fussy about Pots or open ground, Just depends on your needs & space.
