Kale , Russo - Siberian 'White Russian' (Gone when its Gone)

In Stock 12

Brassica napus ssp Pabularia, Open-pollinated (Rape or Russian  Kale) Introduced into Canada, & then into the USA, by Russian traders in the 19th century, while Kale, in general, can be the sweetest of Veg, these are typically more tender & have a milder flavour than the "oleracea" kales & thus its young light whitish - blue-green leaves, white stems & a ruffled shape are better for salad use. In-plant rotation, it follows after beans, peas or potatoes. As super hardy winter survivalists, these are the best to grow in cold, windswept, unsheltered gardens, even with poor wet soils, but happier plots can enjoy it too! Oh & frost makes them even sweeter. Ht: 2 to 3 ft, Seed Count Approx - 275 avg
