Coriandrum sativum, The Oldest Known Herb - Cool Weather Grower, Gorgeous aromatic herb, slightly less frilly and fine, great as cut and come again, excellent in salsas, oriental meals & curries. One of the oldest known herbs (mentioned in the bible), two distinct flavours. Lacy foliage is "cilantro", parsley-like garnish with a distinct, fresh fragrance & dried seeds are 'Coriander' or 'Dhania', an aromatic spice. SOWING - Sow seed very thinly, about 1cm apart, and cover with a thin layer of compost. Water in and keep the compost moist but not wet, This annual doesn’t tolerate heat, so grow little & often early Spring & again late summer. Can also be sown in a cold frame in Oct to Jan, planting out late Feb to March, will bolt in the heat.
