Green manure , Phacelia tanacetifolia (Spring/Summer/Autumn)

Phacelia tanacetifolia, approx 15 sq. mtr  (Spring / Summer), A bright and lively spring and summer green manure that grows quickly and keeps weeds in check. Sow from March to September and enjoy plants that reach about a metre tall. It’s happy in most soils, especially dry ones, and may even over winter if the weather is kind. Dig in before flowering for the best soil boost, or chop and compost the foliage. Leave a few patches to bloom and you’ll delight bees, bumblebees and hoverflies with one of their favourite nectar treats. A small flowering corner brings plenty of pollinator joy.   (15 to 16 grms)

  SOWING - Sown March-Sep for summer use (Dig in Autumn) or Sept to early Oct for over-wintering in mild areas, where land is  vacant. Dig in before flowering, The nutrients held in the plants during this period are then released & become available to a newly sown or  planted crop
