Hemerocallis, Summer Wine

This evergreen edible daylily bears large wine-red with a yellow throat, each one lasting a day, then replaced the next day with many more. Flowering time is late spring into summer. It is very hardy and ideal for the colder British climate.Sun or part shade, normal garden soil. Height and spread up to 75cm.

Harvest the shoots in spring and use them in stir-fries or pasta. Use the tubers in winter. The flower buds can be steamed or stir-fried, and the flowers can be used in salads or dried in miso soups. Priced for: 1 litre pot
