Mentha spicata - Has a particularly fine flavour and has long been grown in North Africa, especially for mint tea. It has white flowers and a sweet spearmint fragrance and taste. Moist and partial shade. Has a more upright habit than ordinary garden mint. Ht: 30cm. The white flowers are attractive to bees and hoverflies. Priced for: 1 litre pot
Use: Probably the best mint for making tea. Can also be added to desserts such as ice cream and yoghurt, or muddle the leaves in a mojito. Use in the kitchen in the same way as garden mint.
