Virginia or Eastern Waterleaf. An herbaceous woodland perennial shrub native to Eastern North America. Eaten a lot by the American Native Indians as a salad. Eat the leaves raw or cooked; the mild-tasting young leaves make a pleasant addition to the salad bowl. Flowers are blue, white or purple, appearing in mid to late spring and favoured by bumblebees. Height to 60 cm. A shade lover so great for a forest garden. Priced for: 1 litre pot
