Allium ampeloprasum var. sectivum. Similar to the Babington Leek. The hardy plant dies back in summer and re-sprouts in autumn. Young shoots can be used all winter or left until February when you can eat it as a slender, sweet leek. Plant in well-drained soil 3-5 cms deep. Divide bulbs every 2 - 3 years.
