Edible Daylily. Bright-red, gold-flushed star-shaped flowers from June to September. The edible flowers last for only a day, but because it repeats flowers there are always blooms on show. Height  75cms, spread over 60cms. All parts are edible. The petals make a lovely garnish on salads. Normal garden soil in sun or light shade. Priced for: 1 litre pot

Harvest the shoots in spring and use in stir-fries or pasta. Use the tubers in winter. The flower buds can be steamed or stir-fried, and the flowers can be used in salads or dried in miso soups. Priced for: 1 litre pot
