Allium senescens. Also known as German or Mountain Garlic. Bears nodding flower buds that open to round balls of lavender-pink flowers over a tuft of flat, grassy-looking green leaves. An easy plant in the rock garden or perennial border, tolerating most soil conditions. All parts are edible. The flowers are attractive to butterflies. Hardy. Height 30 - 60 cm.
