Incredibly vigorous plant

I actually bought this basil in a local market, never having heard of it before, but I wanted to review it here to encourage others to try it. Yes, it has a great flavour, definitely stronger than regular basil, and seems not to attract the aphids that plague my other basils. The most striking thing, though,is how fast and high it grows. I wasn't prepared for that, and as I was growing it in a pot on the windowsill, I ended up cutting stems back and sticking them in water for later use, only to find they all rooted in record time. (My neighbour kindly took the plants off my hands because I was getting overrun.) Left to its own devices, this basil will get very tall. I was told it doesn't set seeds and has to be propagated by cuttings (no problem there!) and also that its pretty bluish-purple flowers are irresistible to bees. The videos I've found online seem to bear out its appeal to pollinators. I'd recommend it as an all-round "good guy" in the herb garden or indoors.
