Marjoram, Sweet (Origanum marjorana)

Origanum marjorana. One of the oldest known aromatic herbs with small, narrow fragrant aromatic leaves and white flowers in summer. According to Aphrodite the sweet-spicy smell of Marjoram was considered to be a symbol of luck. Height 30 - 45cm  Priced for a 1 litre pot

Use: Its leaves add a strong, spicy flavour to soups, sauces, stuffings and stews. Rubbing with fresh leaves before roasting improves all strong meats.
