Ugni molinae. Recently introduced from Pucon in Chile, this is a hardier and somewhat smaller-leaved form of the Chilean Guava. A slow-growing, upright, dense evergreen shrub with small, leathery dark green leaves and, in summer, bell-shaped, lightly fragrant, creamy-white flowers followed by edible, purple to dark red fruit that taste like strawberries.
