Ribes divaricatum. A species of currant, found widely across North America, this is a naturally-occurring cross between a gooseberry and a blackcurrant. The fruits are dark inky-black and very sweet, and make wonderful jam. The stems are thick, woody and spiny. Height and spread about 2 metres (Note: the picture shows fruit which is not yet fully ripe). Priced for a 2 year bush. Delivery from late November until March.
