Citrus medica. The Buddha's Hand lemon is the oldest known citrus in cultivation. This highly unusual fruit produces long protruding fingers and a thick rind in the shape of a hand. The fruit has little pulp and is grown for its rind, which is often candied or zested with its sweet to tart flavour. It will need to be in a conservatory or greenhouse for winter but is perfectly happy outside in summer. Will stand frost for a short period but best kept frost-free in the long term. Priced for: a strong bushy plant, 70 - 80cm tall in a 5 litre pot
