Rubus fruticosus x R. idaeus. Named after Scotland's Tay river, the Tayberry is a cross between a red raspberry and a blackberry. In late July to early August it produces large cone-shaped fruits that have a strong aromatic flavour and are less acidic than a loganberry, Whilst it is a prolific cropper, the fruit is very soft when ripe and can only be harvested by hand, so it is rarely available commercially.
