Malus sylvestris - Originating in North America, this crab apple gets its name from the way, when viewed from a distance on a spring day it looks like it's on fire, especially in the early morning or late afternoon. The large, beautiful magenta-pink flowers in spring are followed in autumn by large (by crab apple standards) red cherry-like fruits. The purple leaves turn a green/golden colour in autumn. A beautiful and productive addition to the garden. Priced for: a 2 year bush in a 5 litre pot
