Malus domestica. MM106. Raised on the island of Fyn, Denmark in about 1910 and thought to be a Cox's Orange Pippin seedling, this is a very attractive late eating apple, yellow with heavy dark red flushing. Allow to ripen fully in order for the rich, lightly aromatic flavour to fully develop. The flesh is soft and juicy. Deservedly popular garden variety throughout northern Europe which remains strangely unknown in the UK. Pick: September, use October to December. Priced for a bare-root maiden tree
