Of all the varieties we grew in 2026, Nemo showed by far the best drought resistance, producing a good crop of large tubers despite the hot and dry conditions of the season.

Maincrop. Floury. High-yielding Nemo was named after the cartoon fish due to its distinctive red and white skin. It is a hybrid cross between Inca Bella and the red-skinned Franceline, and combines the vigorous nature of original Peruvian potatoes with the hardiness of modern European varieties. The flesh is golden yellow. Use: excellent for roasting and performs brilliantly baked or mashed too, although steaming rather than boiling is recommended. Priced for: One kilo
