Brassica rapa subsp. Rapa, Early Spring or Late Summer Planting, Originally of Italian origin, this variety was listed in the USA in 1918 in the Great Northern Seed Co Catalogue as one of the earliest types in cultivation. Ideal for early spring harvests from Mar to June or late summersowings, (from Feb when grown under glass), its as known for its good storage capabilities. The small roundish smooth roots feature a bright violet-purple top & white base, with minimal foliage. The interior flesh is white & noted for its sweet, mild flavour & high quality, The globes mature in approx. 50 days, typically reaching 4 to 5 inches in diameter, but are considered optimal when harvested at 2 to 3 inches (comparable in size to a golf or tennis ball). they are also well-suited for container growing., Seed Count Approx - 275+ avg
