Lactuca sativa var capitata, Green leaf - An original non-heading (Looseleaf) Lettuce, Introduced in 1952 with its Red counterpart which was an "All-America Selection®" winner in the same year. Crisp & tender with a sweet flavour. Close-set, deep-lobed, brilliant green leaves. Noted for lasting sweetness & tenderness & stays crisp & tasty, not getting bitter, even after the weather becomes hot, Slow to bolt. Fully Mature 45 days (Ht: 8 to 10 inches) Can be container or open ground grown. Sowing: March- Early Sept & Pick into Late Autumn, Seed Count Approx - 350 avg

 SOWING - Sow in an unheated greenhouse or protected area outside, all thru the year making succession plantings every 1-2 weeks to ensure a constant harvest. Always harvest lettuce very early in the morning, Maturity 68 days Seed Depth: sow thinly and just lightly covered (5 to 10 days to emerge) Note: Lettuce will not germinate at high temperatures.
