Cucurbita pepo,  (Aka: Lady Godiva) This Midseason variety, Squash or Winter pumpkin (everyone says it's one or the other) yet always recognized by its green to yellow-orange round shape with a few black streaked flashings. It's better remembered for its completely hull-less, dark green, plump, edible seeds. The surprisingly large, plump seeds were easy to slip from the stringy flesh & can then be arranged on a parchment-paper-covered sheet pan to dry for an hour or so before roasting in an oven for about 20 mins until they are delicious, very rich & nutty or cool and store for later. The variety is also resistant to powdery mildew and although also edible, the flesh of the Kakai pumpkin is not palatable, you grow this for the Halloween Craving and the Edible Seeds., Seed Count Approx - 7 avg

SOWING - (100 days) A warm spot, well-drained & fertile soil with plenty of composted organic matter & mulch to conserve moisture; Sow insitu after the threat of frost has passed. Sow one inch deep in hills or rows spaced twenty-four to thirty inches apart, Harvest mid-autumn near the first frosts.
