Raphanus sativus, Small Round Vibrant Red Top Half & White Bottom, This is the small round red and white variety traditionally used in summer salads, Flavour is smooth, crispy and spicy with a gentle kick, not harsh at all, just ever so tasty with a nice crunch. While the skin is red and white, the inside flesh is pure white, tender & juicy. A very easy and fast grower. Makes a great addition to any salad, sandwich or garnish. SOWING - Needs Sun, Sown 2 - 3 weeks before last frost. Plant half inch deep & apart in rows1 foot apart. Keep thinning until one inch apart like carrots, so radishes can expand. Keep moist but not soggy until germination, then slightly moist to prevent them going pithy. Successive sow every 2 - 3 weeks through seasonin to early summer, skip the heat or summer and sow once more in early autumn.
