Allium ampeloprasum var Porrum, Cold Winter Tolerance & Long Term Storage, Leek Odrin is a winter variety known for its exceptional cold tolerance, characterized by a short yet robust plant structure. It features a strong, rapidly growing root system that minimizes the risk of lodging, even in low temperatures. This variety is suitable for long-term storage, demonstrating high resistance to bolting during the summer heat. The white part of the stalk is large, 25-30 cm long, diameter is 6 cm, leaves are blue-green.

For optimal growth, it is recommended to plant leeks alongside carrots, celery, onions, and spinach. However, they should not be planted near beans and peas. The presence of leeks will also benefit other vegetables by repelling carrot root fly., Seed Count Approx - 100 avg

SOWING - For winter leeks, delay sowing until early spring. Start seeds on a sunny windowsill, in a greenhouse, or cold frame, or directly in warm soil. The best method is to sow in pots and transplant when seedlings reach 20cm. Harvest leeks about six months after transplant / planting; they can taste better after frost. Aim to harvest throughout winter.
