Brassica oleracea,  HARDY PERENNIAL, (Rare) This Spanish heirloom loose-leaf cabbage is a short-lived perennial that forms a rosette of large, fleshy leaves in its first year, which can be harvested & eaten as cooked greens. Although it tastes like traditional cabbage, it grows more like a perennial kale, producing a 2-ft stalk with a loose head of vibrant, bright green leaves. Just pick the large leaves throughout the year. The plant typically lives for 2 to 3 years if you prevent it from flowering—simply cut back any flowers as they form to maintain its perennial nature, & it will continue to produce new growth. This makes it excellent for providing fresh cabbage during spring's ‘hungry gap’, In its 2nd year the plant develops a woody stem topped with yellow flowers., Seed Count Approx - 18 ea

SOWING - Sow them indoors in trays with peat-free seed compost, planting two seeds about (2cm) deep. Keep them in a bright spot and thin to the strongest seedling after germination. After about five weeks, when the plants are (10–15) cm tall, you can harden them off and plant them in a sunny position outdoors with a meter of spacing, Hardy, remove any flowers
