Tripolium pannonicum, Sweet Flavour of Nuttiness & Daisy-like Flowers, Sea Starwort - This is a robust, succulent coastal plant exhibiting tender, edible salty leaves & showy (non-edible) attractive daisy-like flowers. With broad, narrow-oval leaves that taper to points at both ends, it offers a flavour profile that is mildly sweet with a hint of nuttiness & saline notes. The foliage (only) can be enjoyed raw, cooked, or pickled well into autumn. Native to Eurasia & North Africa, its habitat is typically limited to salt marshes, estuaries & occasionally inland salt works. The visually striking (non-edible) flowers bloom into autumn, attracting late-season butterflies. Optimal growth occurs in damp, preferably saline environments. Harvesting is recommended from April thru October., Seed Count Approx - 50 ish

SOWING - To sow Sea Aster seeds, sow them in late autumn to early spring in trays of loose soil without covering them, as they need light to germinate. Keep the soil moist with "sweet water" initially, but know that once seedlings are established, they can tolerate brackish or salt water. Plant them in a sunny spot, and when the seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant them to their final location after they are hardened off.
