Beetroot , Golden 'Wintersonne' (New to Us)

Beta vulgaris, Bright Yellow accented by Delicate White Rings, Originally From Sativa Rheinau in Switzerland, Wintersonne is a golden, round beet with strong, upright leaves. Its skin & flesh are bright yellow accented by delicate white rings. The sturdy foliage works well for bunching or as cooked greens, & its sweet, earthy flavour makes it perfect for grating raw into salads for extra crunch—much like carrots. The roots display a vibrant turmeric-yellow colour that remains after cooking. Wintersonne beets have a smooth, uniform skin, a distinctively sweet & aromatic taste, & notably do not bleed when heated. They are ideal for fresh sales & bunching, while also being robust, resilient, & adaptable to a variety of soil conditions., Seed Count Approx - 50 to 60 avg 

  SOWING - Seeds can be sown every few weeks from March onwards for a regular supply. You can make an early start in late-February by sowing indoors and planting out under cloches in March. Beetroot seeds are relatively large and are easy to handle and space out along the row. Sow three seeds at 10cm (4in) spacings, 2.5cm (1in) deep, in rows 30cm (1ft) apart.
