Solanum lycopersicum, A Legendary 1930's American Beefsteak Tomato, A legendary American beefsteak tomato, developed in 1930s West Virginia by "Radiator Charlie," is renowned for its large size (2–4 pounds) & sweet, old-fashioned flavour. Crossbred from four giant varieties, its popularity helped Radiator Charlie pay off his mortgage during the Great Depression giving this its unique name. The tomato produces meaty, pink-red, slightly flattened fruits with low acidity & few seeds—perfect for sandwiches, slicing & fresh eating. As an indeterminate (vining) variety, producing fruit continuously throughout the season, it needs strong support & matures in 80 to 90 days., Seed Count Approx - 15 avg 

  SOWING -  Surface-sown or covered only slightly, Don't allow to dry out but don’t overwater. Keep warm until germination (10 days approx), move to WARM bright light area. After about last frost, transplant out into protected growing pots. Plants need staking & side-shoots removing. Will grow as well inside or out & not fussy about Pots or open ground, Just depends on your needs & space.
