Beta Vulgaris, Vibrant Yellow Stems, Midribs & Stalks, A leafy green vegetable distinguished by its vibrant yellow stems, midribs, & stalks, accompanied by glossy, dark green, occasionally crinkled leaves. Unlike many vegetables, Giallo Yello consistently retains its bright colour during cooking. While the species has ancient origins, modern cultivated varieties such as 'Bright Yellow' are selected from these historical types. This cultivar is highly nutritious, easy to grow, frost-resistant, slow to bolt, & notably hardy. It can be prepared similarly to spinach (using the leaves) or celery (using the stalks), & is common in salads, stir-fries, or sautéed in butter. The taste is sweet & tender, especially when harvested young. Additionally, yellow chard is rich in antioxidants & fibre., Seed Count Approx - 50 avg

SOWING - Swiss Chard does not transplant well & does best if the seeds are planted directly in the soil. Sow about 6 seeds per foot directly into the garden as soon as soil can be worked in early spring to summer , Cover seeds with 1/2 inch of fine soil. Use leaves from young thinned plants in salads.  Start cutting outer leaves when plants are about 8 inches tall for extended harvest, new leaves will grow out from the centre.
