In its native Mexico it go to 6 ft, but here it settles at a perfect 3–4 ft, flowering with remarkable freedom & lasting beautifully when cut for the vase. Vibrant, hot colours make it a true show stopper & its extreme tolerance to heat & drought means it thrives even in parched garden corners with minimal care. A little fertiliser now & then & occasional watering is ample. Best in full sun, it will self seed lightly & best treated as an annual. Deadhead regularly to keep the blazing blooms coming.
