Mentha spicata. Easy to grow hardy perennial that emits a wonderful scent when you brush past it. Violet/lavender flowers in June/July, making it a wonderful addition to a wildlife garden. Height to 45cm. Will do well in both sunny and shady parts of the garden. Hardy and deciduous. The flowers are attractive to bees and hoverflies. Priced for: 1 litre pot
Use: The one to have with new potatoes and as a mint sauce with lamb. Make mint tea, add to desserts such as ice cream or muddle the leaves in a mojito.
