Helianthus tuberosus - At last, a Jerusalem Artichoke suitable for growing in a small garden or even a large container. Unlike its vigorous species cousin, this new variety will only grow to around 1.5 metres and spread to around 50 cm. The edible tubers are harvested in autumn (keep a few for re-planting), and can be steamed, boiled, roasted or made into chips throughout the autumn and winter. Fertile, moist but well-drained soil in full-sun. Priced for: 9 cm pot
