Dating back 3000 yrs, this very hardy perennial has been used all over the world in many different guises such as an aphrodisiac, a cure for tuberculosis, a rub for back pain and a bitter herb for Passover. Harvest the tubers in the early autumn, keeping one or two back to re-plant for next year's crop. Likes most types of soils. Priced for a 1litre pot

Use:  Eat as a compliment to beef, chicken and seafood. The leaves can also be lightly steamed and eaten
