European elderberry. Danish cultivar with very large fruits in large clusters, good flavour; very high yields. This variety of Elder flowers from end of May to beginning of June and is self fertile so needs no pollinating partner to set fruit. A deciduous shrub growing up to 3 metres if not pruned. Use: The large flower umbels are fragrant and can be used for cordials and other flavourings. The large deep red round berries high in anthocyanins and antioxidants and great for jams, jellies, juices and dyes.
