Prunus cerasifera - Circa 1952 USA. An ornamental cherry-plum with bronze-purple leaves and single pinkish white flowers in spring, followed by small dark red edible cherry plums that can be cooked. The fruit should be left on the tree until fully ripe. Height and spread 5m in 10 years, but it can be kept smaller with frequent pruning. Thrives in any well drained soil and in full sun or part shade. Self-fertile so a pollinator is not necessary for producing a crop. Also suitable for wild fruit hedges. Priced for: 4 litre pot
