Pyrus communis - Rootstock: Quince C. This tree will only grow to 2 metres, so it is suitable for growing in pots or a small garden. Circa 1770. Dessert variety. Also known as the Bartlett pear. A heavy cropper and hardy enough for northern districts. The skin turns yellow when ripe. Has a sweet and juicy flavour and is excellent eaten straight from the tree in late summer/early autumn. Poaches well too. Priced for: a patio bush
