Diospyros kaki. The 'vanilla' persimmon. A delicious sweet persimmon known for its smooth, custard-like texture with a rich honey flavour. Hardy, with good autumn colour. Harvest September/October. Partially self-fertile, but would benefit from another variety nearby. Height 3 - 3.5 metres
Use: Can be eaten whole, similar to a plum or apple, sliced into fruit salads, or can be added to smoothies, desserts, and breakfast bowls
