Phaseolus vulgaris. C.1868. This highly ornamental round-podded climber is a very heavy producer of rich purple pods. Stems and flowers are purple & the leaves have a purple tinge. Use young as fresh beans or leave pods to mature and use as dried (haricot) beans. Excellent flavour. 65-70 days to maturity. Height 200cm Seed count approx - 50.
